K-Sim® Engine L22 MAN ME-GI LNG Carrier

The K-Sim Engine L22 MAN ME-GI LNG Carrier model is based on the machinery configuration from an LNG Carrier propelled by two MAN 5G70ME-C9.5-GI low-speed engines that can operate on LNG, MGO and HFO.

The model is based on real engine data which makes the dynamic behavior of the simulator close to the response of a real engine. Control room operator station, panels, bridge and steering panels are included.


The electrical power plant includes Four (4) Dual Fuel (4 X Wartsila 6L34DF 3000 kW generator engines, and one emergency generator 550 kW. The steam plant includes two oil fired aux boilers as well as two exhaust gas economizers.


Kongsberg Digital simulator models exceeds requirements in the STCW convention, Regulation 1/12 and fulfill DNV’s standard DNV-ST-0033 for Maritime Simulator Systems.


The K-Sim Engine L22 MAN ME-GI LNG Carrier model is designed to be a valuable tool in the basic and advanced training of marine engineers. The training objectives are to train junior engineers in basic engine room operations, senior engineers in emergency operations and trouble shooting, and to train senior and chief engineers in optimal operation, fuel economy and energy conservation. This is achieved by controlled training, leading to better understanding of the total plant operation, as result of realistic simulation of a real engine room.
